Hell is empty, and all the devils are here.
Lex Harvey came to The Pit to find her missing friend. Someone who fights there must have the answers she’s seeking. Instead, she found him. The damage inside her matches the darkness inside him. She’s only eighteen, but the feelings she has for him are as old as time.

Beau Knight should have ruled New York. Falling in love was the beginning of his end. He watched her die and he lost his heart. Now, The Pit is his heaven and his hell. The only place he can be himself.

They’re both beyond fixing. Addicts, with desires humans couldn’t understand.

A soulless man and a souleating girl.

How do you find redemption from your demons when you are one?

R. Scarlett lives in a small quaint town in Southern Ontario, Canada and has an unhealthy obsession with mythology and romance.

From studying English literature and minoring in History, she loves losing herself in a good book and snuggling up to her Brittany Spaniel.

When she’s not writing or plotting a delicious novel, she can be found hanging out with friends and family, going on long car rides, exploring small towns, or watching reruns of Sex and the City.

So I’ll be honest I am a little unsure of how I want to rate this book. I enjoyed it immensely that is for sure. The writing was fan-f-cking-tastic. The pace was perfect. The plot was thoroughly engaging and had hooked from the first page. That said, there were a few things that niggled me a little. I needed a bit more clarification in regard to Beau and if he was with OW after the first time he saved Lex and during (view spoiler) <– That’s just me being super picky, but it was in the back of my mind the entire book. <– The author clarified this issue for me so it’s ALL good now (lol). I also would have liked a bit more in the sex department. Last, I wasn’t a HUGE fan of the (HIGHLIGHT FOR SPOILER) one year separation at the end. Honestly though, those were just small little issues that didn’t deter THAT much from my enjoyment of the story overall.

BEAU…I pretty much loved him. He was sexy. He was alpha. He was damaged. He was tortured. He was bada$$. I didn’t particularly care for the decision he made near the end, but overall he was a good hero.

LEX…I ADORED her character. She was strong. She was a fighter. She was feisty. She was bada$$. She was a great friend. She wore her heart on her sleeve. My heart broke for her many a time and I thought she should have made Beau grovel WAY more before she let him back into her life again.

Honestly, there wasn’t a TON of secondary characters in this one. I was intrigued by Dolores. Tensley and Molly make small appearances. There were a couple of intriguing guys at The Pit (Jackson and Steel). Mostly the book was main character driven.

Low. This kind of bummed me out. This was a bit of a slow burn with no sex until 65% into the book. Which like I said was a bit disappointing as the story held potential for some really smokin’ hot and kinky sex. That’s not to say the sex we do get was boring, but “I” would have liked a bit more in that department. In any case, this couple did have AMAZING on page sexual chemistry. So again, just me being picky (lol).

Medium. I found this book a lot less angsty than I did the books with Molly and Tensley. There is some pushing away from Beau, but nothing overly annoying. There wasn’t any OW or OM drama. But like I mentioned above I needed some solid clarification on whether Beau had sex with OW after the first time he saved Lex and during (view spoiler) <–
Clarified by the author (who is a TOTAL sweetheart…jut saying. ;D) Most people won’t care, but I am in a super picky mood as of late. So c’est la vie (lol).

Like I said, I pretty much LOVED this one. Yes, it had a few little issues that detracted from my enjoyment overall. But they were mainly “ME” issues and ones that most people won’t find problematic at all. This author is an amazing writer, and this book was an amazing book. Therefore yours truly is going to give this one two solid thumbs up and I can’t wait to get my hands on whatever Miz Scarlett has up her sleeve for us next.descriptiondescription
