RELEASE BLITZ & REVIEW — A Twisted Love Story By Ace Gray

Title: A Twisted Love Story
Series: A Twisted Fairy Tale
Author: Ace Gray
Genre: M/M Romance

Release Date: March 1, 2018

Boy meets girl. Boy falls for girl. Boy marries girl. And they both live happily ever after. Right?

Not quite.

I fell for the boy. So slowly I barely noticed then all at once. I loved my best friend with my entire heart, letting him fill up the holes my family had dug. But boys don’t fall for other boys. Just ask him.

So my story turned into boy meets boy. Boy falls for boy. Boy gets rejected. Boy meets girl. Boy meets boy. Boy loses them over and over and over again.

Pretty twisted, right?

My life story was really just a screwed up love story. A search for the one person that understood the darkness inside me. The monster I’d become. But sometimes the holes are too deep and far too bloody, for anyone—boy or girl—to fill.

“I’ve read all of Ace Gray’s books and this one is the highest, most stunning quality I’ve seen out of her.Don’t get me wrong about the beauty of this… the beauty is only seen with open eyes and an open mind. Do NOT pick up this book if you are a prude in any way (that is not an insult), this book gets nitty-gritty and ugly and sex… holy shit, lots and lots and lots of sex (i.e., “fucking”) – primarily M/M. But if you’re game for some dark ugliness that turns into a true love story… giddy-up.  This is the deepest, darkest, purest, most well-written book I’ve seen this year. Ace has my full-hearted, hefty five-star rating on this. Devil’s in the Ace.” ~  Love N. Books

“I wont go into the plot, you need to read it to get the full effect. But trust me when I say that this book is utterly gripping. It’s deliciously dark and twisty, but the love that shines through that dark? wow, it’s beautiful. Ace is a genius at writing these dark tales, but making them heartwarming in a way not many can manage. Her writing is a kind of gritty poetry at times, and ATLS is her best work to date.” ~ EmmBooks

Just be with me.

God, the thought had never occurred to me. It was even more foreign than dating. Mickey commanded, Siobhan made me bleed, Cole took, even Callum had made me his. Only Elle was ever unselfish. Unselfish and uninterested in being mine.

But here was Conrad. Between my knees, telling me the reasons he liked me, looking past the monster I’d become. He was the definition of extraordinary and my heart had seen that coming somehow.

I wanted to touch him. I wanted to explore. I wanted to go slow and tremble and travel someone else’s skin.

And a part of me still wanted to say stop. That I wasn’t ready.

My hands shook as I pushed them through his hair. He closed his eyes and leaned into my touch with a perfect, husky purr. I let them wander down the back of his neck and my thumbs rubbed along his hairline. When they made their way to his jaw, I tilted his head.

His lips shone and I let my eyes trace them, their shape and the soft sheen from the light of the movie still playing in the background. Mine parted as I sucked in a deep breath without taking my eyes from his mouth. Blood coursed through my body, shooting anticipation through my veins like a drug. Nerves too.

Normally I’d crash land into him—I mean I wanted him desperately and was so afraid of where anything more could go—but instead, I moved slowly, inching toward him and pressing a tender kiss to that shimmering pout as a thank you for the words that felt special against my soul.

Ace Gray is a self-proclaimed troublemaker and connoisseur of both the good life and fairy tales. After a life-long love affair with books, she undertook writing the novel she wanted to read, which culminated in her first release STRICTLY BUSINESS and followed with, well, quite a few more. When she’s not writing, she works in craft beer. Originally a small town, Colorado girl, she now loves rainy days, shellac manicures, coffee shops and bourbon—all of which are bountiful in her adopted home of Portland, OR where she runs amok with her chef husband and husky pup.

description~WRITING – PLOT – PACE~
My goodness, this book was good, but it was also crazy intense. There wasn’t anything sweet or heartwarming about this story. It was dark. It was gritty. It was filled with seriously f-cked up characters and tons of nasty sex. The writing was fantastic though. But I had a few issues with the pace. It was a bit too long in my opinion and the last 30% really dragged for me. That said, the plot was incredibly engaging for the first 70% and even though the last 30% felt like a bit of a slog to get through I was still very invested in the story. My other issue was that although this can be read as a standalone there were times especially later in the book that we seemed to jump over important events with no explanation. Which left me a bit confused. I assume these events may take place in Cole’s books (A TWISTED FAIRYTALE)? But it would have been nice had the author at least gave us a few lines of explanation. One minute a character is alive and well and the next scene they are talking about this character’s death with ZERO explanation to what happened. This happened more than a few times and with some pretty HUGE and important events! It really took away from the story. Last, that ending??!! It slayed me.

HORSE…I don’t even know where to start with this guy. My heart broke for him a million times during this book but he was NOT a good person. He did a lot of f-cked up sh!t and hurt a lot of people. But there was just something that shone through and made you want to hug him. His relationship with Cole was so good. So complicated. So twisted and messed up.

COLE…I liked him. His character wasn’t anywhere near as developed as Horse’s in this book and because of that, I struggled at times with understanding his decisions. I am guessing that since he has a duet (A TWISTED FAIRYTALE) dedicated to him and Elle that a good portion of THIS story is retold through his eyes in those books.
There were quite a few secondary characters that have varying degrees of importance. Some I loved. Some I hated. Some made me bawl my eyes out. Some I would like to read more about. All of them added amazing amounts of depth to this story.

Extremely High. My god was this book full of sex and sex scenes. M/M. MMF. MFM. A smidge of F/F. Loads of raw and raunchy sex. Cheating. Rape. Rough sex. Angry sex. Choking.

Very High. This book was kind of brutal to read. It was full of cheating. Push and pull. Unrequited feelings. Death. Torture. Murder. It was definitely not a unicorn farting rainbows type of read (lol). It will put you through the ringer for sure.

I enjoyed this one a lot and now I really want to read Cole’s story. That said, it wasn’t without a few issues (too long and events skipped over without explanation) and those things had me lowering my rating a bit. That said, this author knows her way around a story. She pulled SO many emotions from me. I was angry. I was crying. I wanted to shake the ever-loving hell out of some of these characters. I didn’t even care that no one ever stayed faithful <– that’s a miracle if ever there was one (lol). Therefore, yours truly is going to give this one two very solid thumbs up. I’ll be keeping my eyes peeled to see what this author has up her sleeve next.description
