I’m a new erotic romance author with two books currently out. Loving the Senator and The Ambassador and Me. Both were Amazons Hot New Release and Bestsellers. Soon to release on November 3rd Paris, The Ambassador and Me the second in the Trilogy. On November 27th, I will be releasing Loving The Candidate the Second in the Capital Affairs series. Around Christmas, I plan to release a very emotional book called Just Breathe Again.
I’ve been writing since I was seven when I won my first essay contest in our state. From then on I wrote as much as possible. It wasn’t until four years ago when I decided to write what I loved to read, erotic romances. Back in the day I would steal my moms Jackie Collins books and read them repeatedly tucked in between my Little House in the Prairie books and late at night with a flashlight under the covers. It never hit me to actually write romances until I spent a few days in New York went to Central Park with my laptop. I closed my eyes while I typed my first sex scene (it really helped) and I haven’t looked back.
4.5 Stars
I love trying out new authors, but we all know that it can be a little hit or miss most of the time. Luckily for me, this book turned out to be ALL kinds of AWESOME. I literally could not put it down. Just when I thought things were calming down…BAM…did not see that coming.
The writing was fantastic. It was very well paced. It was a reasonably quick read clocking in at just under three hours. The plot was immensely engaging. I wasn’t lying when I said I couldn’t put this one down. I sat my butt on the sofa, and I didn’t move again until I was finished (lol). There were twists and turns. Secrets and lies. Pain and redemption. A little bit of romance <— This really isn’t a romance book for the first 80%. That said, we do get some in the last 20%, and I was a happy camper. The characters were all well developed (for the most part). I maybe would have liked a smidge more background for Hugh, but that is just a tiny niggle. Last, it was all wrapped up in a sweet HAPPY FOR NOW. Personally, I would have loved to see an epilogue a bit further in the future for these characters, but again, that was just a tiny little niggle.
All in all, I found this one to be a delightful read. Great writing. Well paced. Engaging plot. Interesting characters. Twist and turns that will keep you guessing. A little bit of romance. A little bit of heat. SIDE NOTE: There is abuse (physical, mental, verbal) in this one, so do be aware of that if those things bother you. So yea, nothing else left to say. This one gets two huge thumbs up and a solid recommendation from yours truly.
Hi there! I’m a mom and wife by day (and night), aspiring writer (in my dreams), and an avid reader (every day of the week). This is my little corner of the web to post about ALL things books. I live in Copenhagen, but I am a Canadian girl (born and raised) at heart.
